Farberware Cookware Farberware began in 1900 when SW Farber opened his workshop on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. A master metal smith and inventor, Farber’s company, Farberware, produces exceptional cookware. From quality cookware to cutlery, bakeware, tea kettles and more, Farberware brings traditional craftsmanship together with style and the latest technical advances. SW Farber set up a workshop in a small basement on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where he transformed sheets of copper and brass into bowls, vases, and other giftware. Business grew over the next several decades as he introduced silver-, nickel-, and chrome-plated finishes for his product lines. In the late 1930s, Farber broke into the world of small appliances with the Coffee Robot, which kept coffee warm hours after brewing. More appliances followed, and by the early ’60s he had created the now-familiar stainless-steel electric frying pan with a removable probe and aluminum-clad bottom, as well as the Open Hearth smokeless broiler. Over the course of 100 years, the name Farberware has become synonymous with quality, durability, and innovation.
